Defund the Police; We Are Barbarians!

How will our lives be better if we “Defund the Police” as Kendrick Sampson tweeted, claiming police brutality in multiple cities across the U.S.? It strikes me funny the “celebrities” who help instigate these movements are not the ones who will be affected by the result. They don’t live in the crime-ridden parts that will become war zones without a police presence. Also, of note, police brutality very rarely occurs to innocent people. Police brutality is a bad thing, but I and Fletcher Reede from the movie “Liar Liar” suggest “quit breaking the law asshole!” as a remedy. Don’t give the cops any reason to be brutal. But I digress. We could just back off and let the cities be destroyed. It’ll be okay, my city isn’t in danger. Most cities aren’t in danger. Just a few. Before anyone rationalizes and says ‘a lot of cities are in danger’ keep in mind the size and population we are talking about. Even hundreds of cities are just a few by comparison. And hundreds of cities aren’t in danger. But let’s say we back off and let the cities be destroyed to be rebuilt with a better force. Hmmm? Could it be rebuilt quickly? How long will the 90% who are not participating in the demolition be in danger of the 10% criminal element? Where would it stop? I suppose we could start a “Purge”. Would a 12-hour “Purge” rampage quell the violence? 12 hours? How about a whole week? I’m sure everyone will feel better with their whole city destroyed. Having a minor inconvenience to go to the next burg to get milk is worth the cause. The criminal element would probably survive okay, but the retirees and the single mothers or fathers may have a difficult time getting things done. Would the city residents feel appeased? Would the city residents feel justice served? Will they go home feeling they’ve done their part in the revolution and hook-up the brand-new TV they acquired at the newly “renovated” department store?

We are barbarians and this is my proof.

But this is just my opinion. Feel free to have one of your own.
